Italian new car registrations down despite scrappage scheme

Bad news in Italy as new car sales are continuing their decline despite a 5,000 euros scrappage scheme having been in place since February. It's safe to say that the effect of scrapping incentive appears to be waning in as new car sales dropped 8.6 percent in May, to 188,670 units. The May decline marked the second consecutive month in which sales have fallen.
