This is true Mark the auctions are having a great time at the moment selling cars for the corporates and main dealers which puts the independent dealer even further back in the line up. Antone who regulary attends and submits cars there will know that.

You miss my point, I know there are more private buyers at auction, but how many hang around until the end of the day or night when "Trade Entered " vehicles tend to go through? all the best slots having been taken by the large Fleet and Franchise Vendors, of course they know which sections are best, the auctions tell them !!

There are more 'private' buyers than ever before at auction, you tellin me they know the difference between each section? they are exactly the people who are creating these inflated prices simply because they think they are getting a bargain,no doubt the big players are looked after and get the best slots and treatment, but there are growing numbers of privately entered cars being entered,at the auctions i go to anyway, perhaps its a regional thing,i dont know i just want a piece of the pie again!!

Get in the real world my friend ! Auction houses are the worst place for any dealer to dispose of their unwanted stock, firstly you will nevr get the well placed Lot number you require, secondly you will be put in the "Trade Entered" section which immediately scares the high bidders away, and thirdly and prehaps more importantly, the major Auction Houses keep their large franchise groups and big fleet companies happy first and foremost, we as the "real" trade are small fry indeed always pushed to the back of any vehicle line up at auction. Large profits and mega money from customers trade ins at auction? Dont make me laugh ! Ask ANY independent dealer what they think of that statement .
