Peugeot Citroen global sales down 14 percent
PSA Peugeot Citroen says it sold 14 per cent fewer vehicles in the first six months of 2009 than in the equivalent period last year.
The company declined to predict sales for the second half of the year. However, it did say that sales would be shaped by a raft of new models including the Citroen C3 and Peugeot 5008.
Frederic Banzet, head of the Citroen brand, said he hoped that scrappage schemes in a number of European countries designed to encourage sales of new cars would be extended.
He said: “We are campaigning for measures to be continued.”
