If you drive one of these then you’re…

Stereotype - a commonly held public belief about specific social groups, or types of individuals

The world is filled with clichés and stereotypes and the world of motor cars and their drivers is, of course, no exception. In an attempt to find a little slice of weekend fun we did a straw poll in the offices of MTI and came up with our own list of cars and their very stereotypical drivers. We’re sure it will enrage some people (heterosexual Honda S2000 drivers for a start) but it’s just the opinion of a few seasoned old motor trade pro’s. This list is by no means exclusive or exhaustive so everyone is welcome to voice their own opinion or dispute an entry. The train is now arriving in the small French town of Cliché......

So....if you drive one of these then you’re...

Honda S200, BMW Z3 – A hairdresser, an effeminate male

Land Rover Discovery – A farmer, an old person, a vet

Porsche Boxster – A bit of a show off, someone having a mid-life crisis, a male with small genitals

Vauxhall Vectra – A dullard, a company driver, or both

Mini cooper – A fashion victim, daddy’s little princess, an effeminate male

Peugeot 106 – A Chav, “hoodie” wearing thicko prone to violent outbursts, of low intelligence

Chrysler 300 – A person who wants a Bentley but can’t afford one and ended up with two of these thanks to BOGOF

Saab – A Doctor, an Architect

Beetle convertible – A Girl, eco friendly middle class housewife, woman, grandmother, pre-op transexual

Skoda Octavia estate – A dog owner, college lecturer, music teacher

Nissan Primera – A taxi driver

Citroen Berlingo – An ederly, retired couple who own matching tartan blankets and flasks

Mercedes S600, BMW7 Series – Banker, company director, arrogant

BMW X5, Range Rover Sport, Lincoln Navigator, Aston Martin DB7, Ferrari 360 – mediocre professional footballer – probably playing in Hull City reserves

Citroen 2cv – Primary school teacher

Smart car – A stupid person

i think you are being harsh about the 106,its a great starter car and not all kids who drive these are hoodies or chavs.

  2. I agree with some of your stereotypes, but it’s also just that, a stereotype.

So whats the car to drive if you’re a humble bloke, with a family, earning a decent wage as a company director without being stereotyped as “arrogant”?
